On
May 27 and 28, Hanover Thunder Red
participated in the Memorial Day
Shootout held at RF&P Park in
Glen Allen Virginia. Thunder
Red, entered the tournament in the
14U division, playing up for the
first time.
On
Saturday, May 27, Thunder was the
winner of two games, defeating the
Wildkatz and the Glen Allen Blitz by
scores of 10-5 and 10-3
respectively. However, the
third game of the day was played
against the Virginia Flames and
Thunder was defeated by a score of
7-0.
Sunday,
Thunder played a close game against
the Williamsburg Starz and came out
on top by a score of 5-3. With
this win Thunder went on to compete
in the Gold Division playoff game,
once again coming head to head with
the Virginia Flames.
Unfortunately, Thunder was unable to
pull it together and lost by a score
of 10-0. They were presented
with the runner-up trophy in the 14U
division.
Although
Thunder Red was outscored by their
opponents 28 to 25 they played a
good tournament, gaining experience
and earning a pat on the back for
their hard work and dedication.
Congratulations
to all of the girls who played this
weekend and a special thanks to the
Tornado girls that came and helped
us out.
