Thunder Red team participated in
their third tournament of the season
on April 1 and 2, 2006 at the USSSA
April Fools Tournament held in
Mathis Park.
The
first game was played against
Extreme Fury White with Thunder
coming out on top by a score of 4-3.
Thunder took the field for the
second time on Saturday against the
Rowdies, winning that game handily
by a score of 15-1. Following a
three hour break in the action,
Rampage and Thunder took the field
with Thunder outscoring Rampage 8-1.
Although
Thunder was undefeated on Saturday,
they did not get the bye for the
first game on Sunday and again met
the Rowdies defeating them by a
score of 13-4. The second game on
Sunday put Thunder against Rampage
for the second time in the
tournament. At the end of seven
innings the score was tied 3-3 and
the international tie breaker rules
were instituted, placing the runner
on second base. Rampage, being
considered the visitors was first at
bat and was able to score three more
times before the last out. In the
bottom of the inning Rampage was
able to hold Thunder and won the
game by a score of 6-3.
Again,
Thunder played hard and can hold
their heads high with statistics
showing Thunder outscoring their
opponents 43-15 and having 153 at
bats compared to the opponents 101.
Congratulations Thunder Red!!!
